October flowers

I can tell it's fall. The leaves are beginning to turn, and so is the weather. It's a nice time of year. And this year the fall is coming in gently. I took the camera over to our neighbors' garden where I saw some pretty leaves and thought they'd make nice pictures. Some nice flowers are still blooming.

I don't know what these are called, but they're very pretty and are perfect fall flowers.

We got five millimeters of rain overnight on Saturday and the forecast is for more unsettled weather in the week to come. But it's supposed to warm up again to seasonable temperatures. Let's hope so. There is a lot of cleaning up to do in the vegetable garden in advance of winter.

  1. On dirait bien des zinnias... Ils sont superbes !

  2. What a lovely colour! And are those Rudbeckia "Cherry Brandy" in the background? They are an excellent background to the zinnias, whatever they are, even when going over.

  3. As Janet said, the flowers on the left look like zinnias. Those on the right are some kind of Rudbeckia.

  5. It seems to have turned to fall since Saturday. It was nice while it lasted but I guess it's time to get back to "normal" whatever that is anymore.
